Blyth teenager charged with samurai sword attack

A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged following an attack with a samurai sword in Northumberland last week.

The incident happened on Tuesday, June 23, in Blyth.

Police attended Southend Avenue in the town just before 11.30pm, where they found a 22 year old man with serious injuries to his head and elbow.

He was taken to Wansbeck General Hospital for treatment.

Kenneth Chrisp, 18, of Newsham Road, Blyth was arrested by officers and charged with wounding and possession of offensive weapon.

He appeared before South East Northumberland Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he was remanded in custody.
