Poyet favourite to replace Keegan at NUFC

WILLIAM HILL have made Gus Poyet 9/4 favourite to become the next permanent Newcastle manager following the departure of Kevin Keegan. Hills now offer 7/2 that Mike Ashley will cease to be Newcastle owner before the end of the season.

Hills make Dennis Wise 3/1 second favourite and also offer 5/1 Alan Shearer; 9/1 Didier Deschamps; 12/1 Laudrup; Rijkaard; ,Mancini; 14 Curbishley; Houllier; 20 Redknapp; O'Neill; Pearce.

'Punters who backed Keegan to go before the end of the year, which we had offered at 4/1, are celebrating, but we wouldn't expect much in the way of celebration from fans should Dennis Wise be given the job' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
