Police stand-off with armed teenager
POLICE staged a three-hour stand-off when a teenager armed with a knife refused to leave a house on Tyneside.
No-one was hurt in the incident in Lanchester Road, Gateshead at around 7.45pm last night.
The 19-year-old had entered the house earlier in the day and refused requests to leave.
He was arrested on suspicion of affray and a weapon was recovered.
