Serious assault in Newcastle nightclub

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in a Newcastle night club to come forward.

CCTV footage shows a man in his late 20s, wearing a white shirt, assaulting another man during the incident at the Destiny night club in the Cloth Market, Newcastle, at around 11.30pm on Friday July 6.

The man punched another male in the face causing him to fall to the floor, and then attacked him again before running out of the club.

Detective Constable Steve McHenry said: "The club was not full at the time but there were a number of people present when the incident took place, and we would urge anyone who knows anything to come forward."

The man is described as white, in his late 20s, of medium built, 5ft 11in tall, wearing a white coloured shirt and light coloured trousers.
