Cocaine seized in raids in Bishop Auckland

POLICE seized cocaine worth more than £35,000 after raiding two properties in Bishop Auckland.

Officers from the South Durham Serious Crime Unit and the Bishop Auckland Neighbourhood Beat team carried out the operation on streets in the Henknowle area of the town.

They first entered and searched a house on Cornwall Place, before raiding a property on Suffolk Place at 7am this morning.

Two men in their early 40s were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine drugs, along with a 16-year-old boy.

A spokesman from Durham police said: “This was a very successful operation which has resulted in a significant amount of cannabis being taken out of South Durham.”
