Newcastle pensioner robbed

A PENSIONER is in hospital after being assaulted and robbed in his garden on Tyneside.

The 70 year old victim was using a garden leaf blower at his home in Brandling Park, Newcastle, last night when a man pushed him over and into a fence.

The man fell to the ground and the robber ran off with the blower.

When police arrived the victim complained of feeling unwell and was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary where he is undergoing tests.
