Body on Northumberland beach "not suspicious"

The death of a 29-year-old man whose body was discovered washed up on a Northumberland beach is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Officers were called to South Beach, near the Harbour Master’s office in Blyth, on Monday night after the body was found by a passer-by.

Northumbria Police said the man, who has not been named, was from the Ashington area.

A post-mortem examination revealed no suspicious circumstances.
