County Durham villagers can't call 999

A County Durham village has been cut off from making calls to the emergency services.

Heavy rainfall over the weekend knocked out the 999 service in the Ebchester area and its surrounds and engineers have been called in to repair the BT installation.

Police asked that in the meantime, anyone seeking to make an emergency call should dial 0845 6060365.
