Teenager battered in street attack

Police in County Durham are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old was attacked so savagely a metal plate in his arm was bent.
The teenager was knocked unconscious on Saturday night in Sunderland Road, Horden, while on his way home from a night out with friends.
He suffered a broken arm, broken wrist and cuts and bruises to his face and head.
A police spokesman said: ``Doctors said it would have taken considerable force to damage and dislodge the metal plate, which was implanted to his arm years ago.
``It would seem the victim was punched or kicked unconscious and we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened.2
