Shipping container stolen from South Shields

A STOLEN shipping container holding thousands of pounds worth of industrial refrigeration equipment has been recovered by police.
The £5,000 container and £9,000 worth of equipment was taken from Portberry Street Industrial Estate in Laygate, South Shields between Thursday May 1 and Tuesday May 6. Officers found it in the Cleadon Park area of South Shields yesterday after acting on a tip-off from a member of the public.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and bailed pending further inquiries.
