Three men have been rescued after a fishing boat suffered engine failure in the North Sea last night.
Coastguards were called after the men made a 999 call and the Sunderland RNLI launched to rescue the men from Hendon. The boat was towed to its mooring.
Paul Nicholson, Senior Helmsman at Sunderland RNLI said, "After speaking to the crew onboard the vessel it became apparent that this trip was the boats first trip to sea for almost twelve months."
