Feb 27 2008 By Graeme Whitfield
An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shock England this morning.
The quake’s epicentre was near Market Rasen, in Lincolnshire, but people across England said they felt buildings shaking shortly before 1am.
The quake was felt across North and South Tyneside, Northumbria Police said.
A spokesman for the force said: ``We have taken a number of calls in relation to it.
``In the force control room, a member of staff saw his terminal shake, so the screen wobbled and then he started to receive reports of tremors."
