£1m drugs haul at North scrap yard

More than £1m of drugs and a number of cars were seized from a scrap-yard in Sunderland.
Northumbria police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency swooped on the salvage site, on Freezemoor Road, Houghton-le- Spring, Tyne and Wear, on Monday.
Six people arrested but four were subsequently released.
A 44-year-old man, Bryan Christopher Ferguson, of The Folds, Houghton-le- Spring, is due to appear before Sunderland Magistrate’s court this morning charged with two counts of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
Police would not release details of the drugs confiscated from the premises.
