Sir John given repairs ultimatum

SIR John Hall has been given a last chance to prove he is committed to repairing a rapidly deteriorating stately home.

Officers from Newcastle Council are to meet with Sir John to receive a detailed list of repairs needed at his Woolsington Hall estate, near Newcastle Airport, and will seek assurances that after years of neglect the building will finally be restored.

A council meeting this morning heard that if Sir John’s Cameron Hall Development company does not agree to carry out the urgent repairs then the council will carry out the work itself and send the bill to the former Newcastle United chairman.
