Rob Vickers and Alex Tait agree to a future at Falcons

Rob Vickers of Newcastle Falcons

“We have made great strides this season in certain areas, there are solid foundations in place at the Falcons and everybody at the club is determined to really push on and grow over the course of the next two seasons,” he said.

“I see Newcastle as the ideal place to continue my development as a player.

“We have a fantastic set-up here and the club is showing a great deal of intent to grow over the coming years.”

Having already made more appearances this season (20) than in any previous campaign, promising full-back Tait believes his development is best served by staying with his local club for another year.

“I’ve come right through the system at Kingston Park,” said the 21-year-old former Barnard Castle pupil, who made his first-team début for Newcastle against Cetransa El Salvador in November 2007.

“I feel like I’m developing as a player under the coaching staff here and I’m delighted to have agreed this new deal.

“Everybody here is excited by our future prospects.

“Hopefully the supporters will feel the same and together we can really take this club to where everyone wants it to be.”
