CHRIS Hood is to step down as Gateshead Thunder director of rugby at the end of the season.

Hood will remain involved at the Co-operative Championship 1 club after that, but not in playing matters.

He will become community director. For now, he will again continue the Tyneside club’s quest for a first win of the league season from the bench when Rochdalevisit the International Stadium. tomorrow
