Thunder get Anthony England on loan

THE fifth Castleford Tiger to be loaned to Gateshead Thunder this term, Anthony England will go straight into contention for Sunday’s Halifax clash.
Joining Jamie Cording and Nathan Massey at Gateshead Stadium, forward England’s loan will run until August 3, and he is available for this weekend’s home Championship clash (kick-off 3pm).
With Joe Arundel and Jonny Walker already having been on loan at Thunder this season, and former Castleford players Michael Knowles, Jason Payne and Andrew Henderson on hand in Gateshead, the Cas contingent keeps growing. Thunder CEO Rod Findlay is delighted with the burgeoning link. “Gateshead Thunder are very grateful to Castleford Tigers for the loan of another player. We have excellent relationships with the club at all levels. I worked with Castleford chief executive Richard Wright closely when I was at the RFL and we have continued to work together and stay in touch since I joined Thunder and after our Boxing Day Friendly in 2008.
“I also know our coaching department work closely with Castleford’s.
“Thunder conditioner Alan Dickinson knows the Tigers very well having worked there in their successful campaign to gain promotion to Super League and Alan has a keen eye for emerging talent from Castleford.”
