Nottinghamshire v Durham: Day one update
DURHAM squeezed in 20 minutes of cricket in between - or rather through - the rain showers at Trent Bridge this afternoon.
The visiting batsmen left the dressing room after an early lunch at 1.35pm, despite drizzle no lighter than much of what had fallen in the morning continuing to linger.
Darren Pattinson slipped the first ball of the game down legside and it swung after passing Michael Di Venuto to go for four byes.
A short ball from Charlie Shreck in his first over was picked off his legs and pulled for four by Di Venuto for the game's first boundary. Two balls later Shreck dropped shorter and met with a more savage pulled four.
The fit-again Di Venuto was nine not out when heavier rain forced the players off, with Kyle Coetzer unbeaten on three. Durham were 16-0 off five overs.
