Durham v Hampshire: Day two is all Durham's
A FLURRY of final-session wickets did nothing to stop Durham's march towards what could be their first win of the County Championship season.
The hosts are in total control of their match against Hampshire, although having failed to make their dominance count in three early-season draws they will not be taking their powerful overnight position for granted.
Hampshire trail by 154 with Michael Carberry (0), John Crawley (5), Michael Lumb (32) and nightwatchman James Tomlinson (1) back in the pavillion. Graham Onions claimed the first wicket, Callum Thorp the last and Stephen Harmison the other two, although Crawley's departure owed a great deal to a brilliant gully catch by Will Smith.
Earlier, Durham lost four wickets for 31 after tea, the last three coming in one Imran Tahir over to leave the South African-qualified Pakistani with figures of 5-85. Ian Blackwell scored 68 as the Riversiders were bowled out for 311, adding three batting points to the three claimed with the ball.
