Newcastle lightweight John 'Razor' Watson marked his professional debut with a win on Tommy Conroy's Sporting Club show in Sunderland.

Watson outpointed Gavin Deacon of Northampton 59-58.

"It was a fine start for John," said Conroy. "Deacon is a good journeyman who has never been stopped in a dozen bouts."

Shaun Farmer made it a double for Conroy's stable, outpointing Matt Scrives (Nottingham) 59-55.
