NEWCASTLE Diamonds finally turned a ghastly season round last week, taking a narrow victory over Somerset, and they want to continue that upturn this weekend.

Newport Wasps are the visitors to Brough Park in the Premier League tomorrow (6.30pm).

Diamonds’ George English says: “Last week we got back to collecting league points, and that was despite some awful luck for our lads on the night, so maybe the fates can finally start to look upon us favourably again.

“We could do a lot to rescue this season and make it a year to be proud of, but that means taking the sting right out of the Welsh Wasps tomorrow eveNing.”
