The region’s finalists struggled against Southern opposition in Saturday’s English Schools Cup Final at Gateshead International Stadium.
In the Intermediate Boys’ section, North Eastern champion Michael McArdle was fastest in the 100m and also won the long jump.
Sam Bailey (Park View) was the quickest 800m runner in the Junior Boys’ age group. Newcastle’s Central High School were the best performers, finishing 10th, in the intermediate age group.
