Gateshead Harriers settle for fifth place

GATESHEAD Harriers had to settle for fifth place at Saturday’s third National League Division One meeting at Liverpool. The Tynesiders remain third overall behind Sheffield and Trafford.
Ryan McLeod provided Gateshead with their only victory – in the 5,000m. Richard Kilty finished a close second in both the 100m and 200m, while Ian Burns was runner-up in the javelin and Craig Sturrock finished third in the shot putt. English Schools champion Niall Flannery gained third place in the 400m hurdles.
Gateshead travel to Copthall in Middlesex for the final match in two weeks’ time.
