Winter Olympics: Image of games is improving says Cram

STEVE CRAM believes “two or three” medals would represent a good Winter Olympics for Great Britain.
This country has always been a winter Games minnow, as synonymous with joke figures like Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards as gold medalists like Torvill and Dean.
Cram, a former middle-distance runner from Jarrow, is part of the history of the summer Games but will be in Vancouver with the BBC commentary team in Vancouver.
As someone who takes part in winter sports himself, he is a fan of the lesser-regarded of the Olympiads.
“I’ll be at the curling where our men are joint favourites with the Canadians, and our women have got a new, young team,” he said. “Certainly it’s one of our big medal hopes and if we can win two or three medals we’ll be very happy.
“I’ll not be up at the skiing but I do love it. I ski myself and I do love watching the downhill, the blue riband event. Chemmy Alcott’s in the women’s alpine event.
