AGAIN it proved impossible to separate the Warriors and the Sharks last night as the two sides drew for the second time this season at Hillheads.
It was the visitors who were first to show on three minutes when a pass from Pavol Melichercik found its way across the Warriors’ goalmouth for Chris Wilson to score from close range.
Whitley’s leveller came in the 16th minute when Karl Culley turned the puck over in the visitors’ zone and Adam Reynolds slipped the puck under the keeper to score.
Having got themselves back in the game, Whitley was undone at the back post again when Robert Chalmers put Solway in front again.
Whitley came out strongly at the start of the second session and it was Culley who used his experience to bank the puck off the Solway keeper’s legs to draw the home side level again at 26:14.
Struan Tonnar edged the visitors in front for a third time five minutes before the second interval, but Callum Watson poked the puck between the goalie’s legs to make it 3-3 on 57 minutes.
Whitley scorers: Culley and Reynolds 1+1; Watson 1+0; Sample, Good and Windridge 0+1.
