FIFE Flyers had this Northern League encounter decided after only three minutes – by which time they had taken a 4-0 lead.

Northern Stars fell behind after only 34 seconds, another followed in the second minute and two more in the third.

At that point, David Lawrence replaced the shell-shocked Mark Thurman in the visitors’ net.

Stars consolidated from then on and it was still 4-0 at the first-period break, and only one goal came in the second session in the 16th minute.

Fife had extended their lead to 7-0 by the time Andy Finn had scored Stars’ consolation reply.

Lawrence made some fine saves to keep the score respectable against the Northern League leaders.
