Vipers launch a new 'Drive for Five'

MICHEL Robinson says Newcastle Vipers are ready to launch a new Drive for Five – but this time with a fifth-place finish in mind.
Vipers’ original ‘Drive for Five’ campaign was aimed at bringing in 5,000 fans for each of the club’s last two games of the season at the Metro Radio Arena back in November.
But the new aim is for the Vipers to leapfrog Sheffield Steelers and Edinburgh Capitals into fifth place ahead of the play-offs.
And with seven games to go, and just two places and five points separating the Vipers from their goal, that target is achievable – particularly with that run-in including three games against basement side Hull Stingrays, two away and one at home, and one against the Capitals on home ice.
Netminder Robinson said: “We have to finish the season strongly and if we do that, there is no reason why we can’t finish in fifth spot.
