WHITLEY Warriors took apart ENL North champions Nottingham Lions at Hillheads last night to end the Midlands outfit’s 15-game winning streak, writes DAVID HALL.

Andrew Tindale put the home side in front and even though Marcus Maynard levelled, it was brief respite for the visitors. The Warriors were back in front just 41 seconds later when Nathan Salem netted before Andrew Carter and Michael Allinson extended the lead.

Bryan Dunn extended the Warriors’ lead in the second session before Andrew Tindale and Karly Culley completed the rout.

On Saturday the Warriors began their play-off campaign in style with a 7-2 win at Sheffield Scimitars.

Ryan Sample and Mark Good began the rout before Rob Wilson netted and Ryan Johnson put through his own goal. The Warriors went further ahead at 45.30 when Rob Wilson smacked home a powerplay goal and the visitors emphasised their superiority late in the game as Nathan Salem and Andrew Tindale both scored with the extra man.
