THE Warriors overcame a stubborn Solway outfit to pick up two Northern League points at Hillheads last night, writes DAVID HALL.
Jamie Kerr had given the visitors the lead with a powerplay goal at 17.05, but as the clock ticked down to the end of the first period Andrew Carter equalised.
The only goal of the middle session saw Karl Culley put the home side in front at 23.27 and it was another 24 minutes before Mark Good drove the puck beyond Anderson to extend the lead.
Former Durham import Kevin Conway poached a typical goal with 10 minutes remaining to keep the visitors in the game, but when DJ Good made it 4-2 at 51.44 there was no way back for the Scottish side.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, despite a cracking game at Dundee, the Warriors had nothing to show for their efforts as they went down 3-2.
Andrew Tindale put Whitley ahead but Iain Robertson equalised and Jeff Marshall put the home side 2-1 up. The Stars stretched their lead through John Haig before Daniel Murdy netted for the Warriors.
