NEWCASTLE ENL Vipers suffered their second defeat in three outings, losing 5-6 at home to Nottingham Lions in the English National Ice Hockey League North.
Never ahead in the match, Vipers twice came from behind to level but never managed to get themselves ahead.
Nathan Taylor equalised for 1-1 at 08.46 and an Anders Lunke brace either side of the first interval tied the scores at 3-3.
Nottingham had a two-goal cushion for the second time but Dean Holland cut the deficit in 48 minutes. Holland hit his second of the game four minutes later, but Lions had struck a sixth goal in between his strikes.
The teams meet again in the Midlands next week.
