A top North East golf course is to stage the second annual charity golf day in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club for the second year is organising the celebrity golf day on Sunday, September 28 to help the Cystic Fibrosis charity.
Last year's inaugural tournament attracted a host of well-known North East personalities such as actor Tim Healy and comedian Brendan Healy.
This year's event looks like being even bigger and better and Pat Kilpatrick, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust's regional fundraising manager, said: "We want local golfers and business people to sign up to play golf with celebrities such as Tim Healy and many other stars from television, sport and entertainment for a fantastic day of golf followed by a fabulous Gala dinner, auction and celebrity cabaret in the evening.
"This will be a great way to entertain your business clients and company partners or come as an individual and join in one of the most entertaining days in the North."
The celebrity golf day is being organised to help raise funds for vital gene therapy research and help those who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis.
The disorder is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease affecting one in every 2,500 births. Each week five babies are born with CF and sadly three young people die from the disease. The average life expectancy in the UK is only 31 years, so time is very precious.
The event is open to a maximum of 32 teams, who will play in four balls in an AM/AM Stableford competition - one celebrity will join the regular three members of the team - with the best two scores counting on each hole.
There will be prizes for the first four teams and a prize for the best overall celebrity. In addition Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competitions will be a feature for all.
The maximum allowable handicap is 24 for men and 30 for women. Entry is £450 (+VAT) per team, which includes a snack brunch, the golf tournament, three places at the gala dinner, banner advertising on the golf course and priority on additional gala dinner places at £40 each (inclusive of VAT).
