Youngsters battle the elements

DESPITE poor weather some 90 juniors turned out for Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club's Open tournament.
The nett event was won by David Chambers of Longhirst Hall with 42 pts while the gross champion was Joe Hellens of Ramside with 33 points.
Billingham's Alice Jones won the girls' nett event with 33pts (back nine) while Tynemouth's Kelly McNulty won the gross title with 16pts.
Robin Smith, Ramsidse's director of golf, said the club was delighted with how the Open had gone.
