Sponsors day success

ROTHBURY Golf Club have staged their annual sponsors day to say a big thank you to their top supporters.

The event was organised as a team Stableford with the best three scores counting.

Philips Golf won on the day out of an entry of 18 teams, thanks to the efforts of Trevor Gascoigne, Eric Waller, George Sales and John Steventon, who played brilliantly to take away the Trophy Shield.

Unfortunately, Philip Carlaw, owner of Philips Golf, could not attend due to holiday commitments, but said: "I't's fantastic our team won. This is our first year in business and the first time we have been involved in sponsoring a club but we will definitely be happy to continue our sponsorship at Rothbury next year."

Trevor Gascoigne commented: "The team had a great day and were proud to represent Philips Golf. I can't wait for next year's event to see if we can win the plaque for a second year."
