Exciting news for Rockliffe

SEE the Christmas Eve issue of The Journal on Thursday for exciting news about Rockliffe Hall becoming the new venue for the 2010 Champion of Champions.

There are two main changes for next year’s event, on Sunday September 5. Every men’s club champion in Northumberland and Durham, plus top county players, will be entitled to a free practice round at the £50m-plus golf resort, as well as free entry to the tournament.

The second change is if a champion is unavailable to play on September 5.

In recent years the tournament has been for “champions only”, but now a club can enter a substitute and are able to use any criteria they like to choose the replacement player.
