Budd organises free taster sessions

EGU man Jason Budd has pulled off a coup with an amazing free taster sessions idea for beginners – and you can turn up in jeans and trainers.
Cocken Lodge, Durham City and Ramside Hall are offering not just a free have-a-go-at golf session to women and girls from anywhere in the North-East in the form of a taster Day and Open Day.
They are also laying on six follow-up coaching sessions free for any takers who have never played golf before, but then want to take a longer look at the sport.
Budd is the North East Regional Development Officer for the English Golf Union and the English Women’s Golf Association.
Durham City club professional Steve Corbally said: “Jason is the man who has been instrumental in putting it all together – and what a fun alternative for youngsters to sitting in front of their computers to play a great sport in beautiful surroundings. Going down to a club free seven times also gives anybody the chance to enjoy the social side.”
Two other clubs have weighed in with Budd. Wearside have four free taster sessions for women and girls on Saturday May 30 (11.30-12.30), Sunday May 31 (3.0-4.0), Saturday July 4 (11.30-12.30) and Sunday July 5 (3.0-4.0). Contact Doug Brolls on (0191) 534 4269.
