CHAMPIONS INFORMATION

ALL 86 men's club champions in Northumberland and Durham County are eligible for the 2009 Journal Champion of Champions to be played over the Hunting Course at De Vere Slaley Hall on September 6. It is an 18-hole scratch amateur tournament.
SOME clubs have qualifying competitions for their championships, a few of them running into matchplay tournaments. The dates given are for when each club championship this season is decided.
GOLFERS who win their club championship via a matchplay final are ineligible for the Nikegolf Race To Slaley.
IF your club's championship falls on or after September 6, the date of the Champions, your 2008 champion is eligible.
INVITED players will be the defending Journal Champion of Champions plus the junior and senior strokeplay and matchplay champions of both counties plus one wild card choice each from the two county captains and the host club.
THERE is no entry fee for the Champions. Competitors are given a free lunch.
