Lucy On Target

The Northumberland County Veteran Ladies Golf Association has staged its annual Silver Meeting and Championship at Arcot Hall.

In all, 64 ladies took part in this event, which consists of 18 holes stroke play, with the 16 best gross scores qualifying for the match play stage for the Championship Salver. 

The Lou Stewart Salver for best gross on the first day was won by Ally Hanson (Alnmouth Golf Club) with Jean Ross (Gosforth Park Ladies) winning the Nichol Trophy for best nett. 

The Match Play and Championship Salver was won by Lucy Newton (Matfen Hall) and the Runner-up Trophy by Lynne Liddle (Gosforth Golf Club). 

The prizes were presented by Brian Mallen, centenary year captain and chairman of Arcot Hall Golf Club.
