LAST year’s Northumberland amateur champion Mathew Webb, now turned professional, missed out on qualifying for South Africa’s Sunshine Tour.
Following the 72-hole cut for the 264-strong field at Schoeman Park and Bloemfontein, Webb is not among the 60 players going into today’s fifth and final round.
The 23-year-old, whose career is supported by a shares option scheme centred at his club Bedlingtonshire, missed the cut by seven strokes.
He was among ten players tied for 113th position on a six-over total of 294 after rounds of 74, 76, 75 and 69.
The top 30 qualify today and golfers filling places 31-60 are eligible for the Big Easy Tour.
