DURHAM CITY manager Dickie Ord wants his side to rediscover its mean streak as it heads to Trafford this afternoon.
City have conceded eight goals in their last two games, with almost all of those resulting from individual errors.
Contrast that with the previous four games, which saw City keep three clean sheets and concede just one goal.
Ord is keen to tighten up at the back again.
He said: “We have gone from keeping three clean sheets in four games to conceding eight goals in two.
“All the goals we have conceded have been poor ones from our point of view.
“We were doing well defensively just after Christmas and we need to get back to that kind of form.
“We have to find a way to cut out the mistakes to avoid letting teams come back into the game when we are ahead. It sounds like I am being very critical, but I am also aware I have a very good young team here.
“These players have loads of potential and will only get better the more matches they play.”
Durham lost a lose game 4-3 to Trafford at New Ferens Park on the opening day of the season, with a controversial late penalty settling that encounter.
The teams meet at Shawe View with Durham sitting in 12th place, five points behind eighth-placed Trafford.
Ord added: “Losing on the opening day of the season – and in the way we did – was a big disappointment.
“Hopefully, we can put it right this afternoon, although we know it will be a very tough game.”
