Easington Colliery go back to Northern League

EASINGTON Colliery are on their way back into the Northern League after being relegated in 2005. They finished second behind Ryhope to qualify.

New Marske finish third despite losing their last game of the season to local rivals Redcar Athletic.

James Kesterton, a regular marksman, signed off with a brace and Stephen Thompson also struck before Sam Garvie claimed a late consolation for New Marske. Annfield Plain crashed to a 6-1 defeat at Cleator Moor Celtic who just about had the points in the bag by half-time.

Ryan Hall and Glyn Edwards (2) put them into a commanding position, and although Darren Striebelt reduced the deficit early in the second period the Cumbrians quickly re-established their superiority.

Edwards completed a hat-trick and Michael Dickinson was twice on target. The three points lifted Celtic to sixth from bottom with Annfield Plain three places above them.
