THE goals continue to flow for the two leading sides and although Whitley Bay are the top marksmen, it’s Spennymoor Town who lead the table.

They blitzed West Allotment Celtic with a six-goal mauling and the result was just about settled by the 26th minute at which stage Gavin Cogden had rifled a hat-trick.

In the last 20 minutes Michael Rae (2) and Chris Lawther also struck and Moors have now racked up 62 goals in 21 games.

Whitley Bay have done even better and they took their total to 68 when they hammered Penrith before a crowd of 421 at Hillheads.

Man-of-the-match was Paul Chow who again showed his scoring prowess with four goals. Chris Moore added to the woes of the Cumbrians whose only reply was credited to Michael Brown.

Following four consecutive defeats, Newcastle Benfield bounced back to form and they too were in scoring mode at West Auckland Town.

Michael Chilton (2), Dean Nicholson (2), Paul Anthony and Stephen Young all beat overworked goalkeeper Michael Leighton while his opposite number Andrew Grainger was beaten only once by Stuart Irvine.

Two other sides also scored five times. South Shields are the in-form team as Billingham Town found to their cost at Filtrona Park.

A superb performance by Johnny Wightman earned him four goals and Stephen Ramsey also netted. Despite a brace from Stephen Roberts, the Teessiders were well beaten. So too were Morpeth Town who conceded five times to Bishop Auckland. Tyson Masters and Adam Emson both struck twice.
