Redditch 2, Blyth Spartans 2

ANOTHER Paul Brayson brace saw Blyth Spartans pick up a useful point at Redditch United – a result that left manager Mick Tait frustrated.
Blyth, trailing at half-time in the midlands and then ahead in the second half, remain in mid-table unable, so far, to break into the top eight. Tait believes his side’s away record of one win from eight away games should be much better, along with their league placing. “We have drawn at Vauxhall, Solihull and Redditch and we should have won all three games,” said Tait. “Everyone was disappointed in the dressing room after the game.
“We had plenty of possession in the first half but didn’t create much, however we did more than enough to win the game in the second half.
“Brayson took his goals brilliantly and Alex Francis, on loan from Gateshead, did very well playing in front of the back four who, apart from the goals conceded, defended well.
“We played all the football but only came away with a point. It is frustrating and we need to turn these draws into wins if we’re to become established in the top half.”
