CENTRAL defender Jeff Henderson scored the first and final goal as Newcastle swept to an impressive FA Premier Academy win.

Henderson’s 17th-minute header opened the floodgates and the Ashington-born player completed the scoring in injury time with a close-range volley.

Coach Peter Beardsley said: “Henderson had a fine game. It was a really good all-round performance, we created a lot of chances and could scored more than the six we did.”

Henderson’s headed opener was followed by a low drive from Scotland under-19 international Brad Inman.

Top scorer Sammy Ameobi added a third early in the second half and Greg McDermott fired in United’s fourth.

Patrick Nzuzi added a penalty and Henderson made it six late on.
