NUFC transfers: The Journal rates the rumours Jan 29

5. The Indepdendent says SHAY GIVEN submitted a written transfer request to NUFC last night. But the Telegraph says the move is "hanging in the balance" as negotiations over the transfer have reached an "impasse".  

Luke says: "The Guardian says Kinnear is optimistic of recruiting Albin Ebondo, the Toulouse right-back. The clubs have been negotiating for two weeks but the delay has been caused by the clubs raising the fee from £2.5m to £3m.

Luke says: "As revealed in The Journal on Wednesday, Tolouse are reluctant to sell and are trying to drive up the asking price. Could well be a dealon the verge of collapsing.
