5) The Independent think NUFC may try to once again sign Stephane Mbia from Rennes for £5m.

Mark says: Interest is ongoing and Newcastle will test their resolve nearer the deadline - provided Joe Kinnear hasn't pulled a rabbit out of the hat by then. The fee could be a problem - £3.5m has been spent on a right-back and Newcastle's transfer warchest is hardly huge.
