NUFC transfers: The Journal rates the rumours Jan 26

The Journal’s Mark Douglas rates the NUFC transfer window rumours in the papers today and over the weekend.

1) The Observer reported that PSV want error-prone Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes back - intensifying talk that Shay Given will quit Newcastle for Tottenham.

Mark says: Harry Redknapp's transfer wishlist is bigger than Charles N'Zogbia's ego so it's no surprise Given was linked with the Premier League's most reckless spenders. Spurs' interest in Given is over now that Carlo Cudicini has joined from Chelsea, though. Given does appear to be on his way, though. Manchester City is his likely destination.
