Long trip south for Dunston UTS in the FA Vase

FA VASE holders Dunston UTS face another long road trip in the fourth round of this year’s competition.

Billy Irwin’s side have been drawn at Tunbridge Wells following their victory over Norton United on Saturday.

Dunston beat West Auckland in last season’s final at Wembley, but are having to do it the hard way again this time around.

Wells, of the Kent Hurlimann Football League, currently sit in midtable.

Whitley Bay, who won three consecutive Vase finals before Dunston’s success, are also on their travels again.

They will take on Suffolk outfit Brantham Athletic of the Eastern Counties League away in the next round.

Ashington had an excellent success over Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday, and they have been rewarded with a tie at Bodmin Town.

Bodmin currently top the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League, so it will be a tough trip for Gary Middleton’s men.

Shildon’s match with Parkgate was postponed at the weekend, but the winners of their rearranged game will travel to Bitton in round four.

And the winners of tonight’s Spennymoor Town v Billingham Synthonia match will play Kent outfit Lordswood at home.
