Mick Wadsworth keeps faith with winners

“They have got some very good players and will be a tough nut to crack, but that makes it interesting for me as a coach.

“Hopefully last Saturday was an aberration, and the players can just carry on where they left off in the cup game.”

The defeat against Sheffield was Pool’s first league reverse of the season, and they have picked up five points from their first four games of the season – one point fewer than MK Dons have managed from the three games they have played.

The Dons have won all three of their home games in all competitions this season, and boss Karl Robinson – the youngest manager in the Football League at just 29 – wants his side to keep up stadiummk’s reputation as a fortress.

Robinson said: “We want it to be a battleground, a nightmare for away teams.

“The atmosphere at home will keep turning because the fans and their enthusiasm will grow with time.”

Dons are also bidding for their third win in a row, having beaten Swindon in the league last weekend and Premier League Blackpool in the Carling Cup the previous week.

Robinson added: “We’ve come off the back of two excellent results and it’s been a long time since this club had three wins on the spin so we’ve got to keep that going.

“Winning breeds unbelievable confidence and it’s amazing how much easier things become when you’re winning matches.”

Wadsworth’s aim of naming an unchanged side once again will depend on whether striker James Brown recovers from an ankle problem in time to play.

Neil Austin (ankle) is ruled out but Humphreys and Fabian Yantorno are available.

Robinson is expected to stick with the same side that started against Swindon last weekend.

Midfielder Stephen Gleeson (muscle injury) remains sidelined along with striker Aaron Wilbraham (back).
