Fellow midfielder Tom Taiwo said: “Kav has been keeping me behind for extra shooting practice, and we saw from his goals the benefit that extra practice has brought for him. He has that quality and all I can do is learn from it.”
“They don’t always go in, so you have to be happy when they do,” the hero of the hour explained. “I struck them well, and you always have a chance when you do that. I enjoyed both of them, because they were different in the way that I had to hit them, even though they were both from outside the box.”
Abbott concluded: “It was probably the best performance since I took over. They gave us 90 minutes and they worked hard, and that’s exactly what you have to do against a team of this quality.”
