Re/Max Northern Alliance

GILLFORD Park are at Blyth Town with sweeper Craig Thompson and striker Chris Grainger both unavailable.

However, Mike Riding is set to return from injury and Ty Taylor is back in contention for a place. Heaton Stannington and Harraby are now the joint occupants of second spot, only a point behind the latest leaders.

Heaton overtook Harraby in midweek. This afternoon they entertain Shankhouse who featured in a goalless draw with visitors Heddon last Wednesday night.

Harraby will host Seaton Delaval whose manager, Nicky Gray, hopes to have several defenders back for the testing trip.

Heddon and Alnwick Town have both remained within striking distance of the top of the table. Heddon are travelling to meet Carlisle City. Murton – promoted with Wark last term – could have a surprise or two in store for Ponteland United who are still seeking their first win.

Cramlington Town beat Ponteland 2-1 in midweek but these were expensive points. Three players – Brian Howitt, Graham Hogg and Andrew Scott all suffered injuries against Ponteland and Scott could be sidelined for a couple of months.

Cramlington’s chairman Frank Rowe also resigned last week with Les Elsey taking over on a temporary basis.

Town’s injury-ravaged side won’t be relishing today’s trip to face champions Walker Central. Hit by early postponements, Walker have won both of their two games to date – at home to Shankhouse and Murton.
